Resident Coach Tour - 12/06/2013

A Resident Coach Tour to view possible Environmental Improvement Schemes has been scheduled for Thursday 13th June.

The tour will take residents to look at Solon schemes where residents have suggested potential projects to improve their area. The improvements include planting of bushes and trees, fencing, increased security measures and providing benches... amongst others!

We have a total of £15,000 to spend and hope to agree with yourselves on the day how we are going to spend it...

The route for the coach journey will be as follows;

2.00pm leave Barton Hill Settlement, Ducie Road, BS5 OAX and go to;
  • 2.05pm - Cotton Mill Lane
  • 2.10pm - Avonvale Road
  • 2.15pm - Moorfields Close (look at proposed scheme)
  • 2.45pm - Bluebell Close
  • 3.00pm - St Lawrence Court (look at proposed scheme)
  • 3.15pm - The Quarry (look at proposed scheme)
  • 3.45pm - Great Swanmoor Close & The Lawns (look at proposed scheme)
  • 4.15pm - Dragonfly Close (look at proposed scheme)
  • 4.45pm - Hewlett Packard Site
The tour is scheduled to finish around 5.00pm at the University of the West of England (UWE) where refreshments will be available.

Please come along and make your feeling known and if you haven't already suggested a scheme it is not too late as we would like to spend the money to improve as many Solon properties as possible.

The coach leaves Barton Hill at 2.00pm, but we can pick you up or drop you off at any of the stopping points, so if you can only make part of the tour then that is fine.

We wish to get the views of as many residents as possible, so if you can't make it on the day you can still let us have your views by calling in and either speaking to Leanne Sowersby (Resident Involvement Co-ordinator) or Darryl Harkin (Head of Housing) on 0117 9244071.

Don't forget there is also a meeting between 6.00pm and 8.00pm in the Itchen Room at UWE to discuss any aspect of the service you receive from Solon - the topics could include Repairs, Anti-Social Behaviour, Welfare Reforms... It really is up to you!

So please come along even if it is only for a cup of tea and a chat...

We hope to see you there!
