Housing Services

The Housing Services team deals with the management of your home. This includes collecting rent, dealing with problems of anti-social behaviour, managing estates and communal areas, assisting you to move into and out of your home.

The team reports to Darryl Harkin, our Director of Housing. 
Andrew McKinlay
Housing Income Manager
Andrew's job is to ensure that residents are aware of and comply with their responsibilities in paying the rent charged by the Housing Association.
He is also able to provide advice on benefit matters in general, and housing benefit in particular. He works with advice workers at Talking Money to support residents in making benefit claims.  
Lisa Newley
Income Management Officer
Lisa covers a patch of properties in St Pauls, Clifton and Redland. She assists residents with benefits and makes sure they pay rent promptly. She makes referrals for specialist welfare rights and debt advice if residents are struggling financially. Lisa works Wednesday to Friday.
Amanda McGlade
Income Management Officer
Having worked at Solon since 2004, Amanda has had several roles within the organization and is now one of our dedicated Income Management Officers. In 2012, Amanda achieved member status of the Chartered Institute of Housing by gaining a housing qualification funded by Solon.
Amanda is responsible for chasing outstanding payments of rent, former tenant arrears, recharges and other payments such as court costs and water charges.
She can offer advice to residents and help tenants understand and work through any particular rent difficulties face to face or over the phone in order to prevent further debt and set up payment plans to reduce outstanding amounts.
Amanda can also advise tenants who are affected by the government's welfare benefit changes. Amanda will also provide information about and make referrals to other support agencies if needed.
Amanda particularly likes working for Solon because she believes it to be a 'small and friendly' organisation.
Shelica Williams
Anti-Social Behaviour Officer

As Solon's ASB Officer, Sheli helps tenants to  effectively tackle all forms of hate crime, neighbour nuisance and anti-social behaviour using a broad range of interventions, including the legal framework. She also assists the Estate Management Officers in dealing with ASB to ensure successful and appropriate action is taken.



Kylie Davis
Estate Management Officer
Kylie's patch covers Central Bristol, including Easton, Clifton, Cotham, Redland, Redfield, St Phillips, St Judes, Barton Hill & Montpelier. She is the first point of contact for any issues with your tenancy other than arrears. She carries out day-to-day management of Solon's estates, including dealing with any issues around Anti-Social Behaviour and conducting Estate Walkabouts.
Kylie takes an active role in promoting resident involvement.

Flic Hughes
Estate Management Officer
Flic's patch covers properties in South Bristol (Southville, Bedminster & Totterdown), South Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean, Mendip, BANES and Melksham. She is the first point of contact for any issues connected with your tenancy other than arrears. 
Flic carries out the day-to-day management of Solon's estates within her patch including Estate Walkabouts and dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour issues.
Flic takes an active role in promoting resident involvement.
Liz Walsh and Fiona Jenner
Housing Administrative Assistants
Liz' and Fiona's main responsibility is the efficient administration of the Housing Services section, with the aim of ensuring that the Solon's tenants receive an excellent service in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization. They also deal with re-housing queries.
